SEN Support Assistant Role
We are seeking an experienced support assistant for a full-time role at a fantastic SEN school. The school offers an inclusive, personalised curriculum and is dedicated to preparing students for life, supporting them to achieve their personal goals.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting SEN children with various academic attainment levels, demonstrating patience, commitment, and the ability to create a safe, welcoming learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting students with special educational needs in a collaborative and inclusive environment
* Assisting teachers in lesson planning, preparation, and delivery
* Maintaining accurate records of student progress and providing regular feedback
* Developing and implementing strategies to promote student engagement and motivation
This role is particularly fulfilling for individuals with teaching assistant experience and those who are passionate about supporting students with complex needs.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teaching Assistant or relevant SEN background
* PECS and Makaton training/experience
* Experience with ASD, SLD, and complex needs, including non-verbal children
* Level 1 safeguarding certificate
* Recent school-based references
* Valid Photo ID (Driving Licence or Passport)
* Full DBS on the update service
