Senior Resource Geologist (ore deposit within Arctic circle)
Our client, one of the leading mining companies, seeks an experienced Senior Resource Geologist to oversee resource estimation and geological modeling. This role requires expertise in geostatistical methods, JORC compliance, and team leadership.
Responsibilities
Develop JORC-compliant resource models for porphyry and similar deposits.
Conduct geometallurgical modeling for metallurgical process planning.
Apply geostatistical techniques (Kriging, Indicator Kriging, LUC) for resource estimation.
Ensure QAQC compliance for copper grade estimation.
Collaborate with metallurgy teams and consultants on complex geological issues.
Supervise a technical team, ensuring project efficiency and compliance.
Adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor's or higher degree in Geology or Mining Engineering.
Experience: 7+ years in resource estimation, 2+ years in a leadership role.
Analytical skills, problem-solving, leadership, and technical reporting.
Software Proficiency
Intermediate: Leapfrog, Isatis or Supervisor, MS Office Suite.
Language Skills: Fluent in English (oral and written).
JORC Compliance: Hands-on experience in JORC resource modeling.
Working Conditions
Schedule: 5 days per week, 2 days off, office format.
