To become a TAFE Queensland teacher, you must hold one of the following training and assessment credentials:
* TAE40122 or TAE40116 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment;
* TAE40110 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills and TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools;
* TAE50111 - Diploma of Vocational Education and Training;
* TAE50116 - Diploma of Vocational Education and Training; or its successor;
* TAE50211 - Diploma of Training Design and Development;
* TAE50216 - Diploma of Training Design and Development, or its successor;
* Higher-level qualification in adult education (approved by TAFE Queensland).
Note: Proof of qualifications and industry currency/experience to be provided at interview.
Additional Mandatory Requirements
Possession of relevant formal vocational qualifications (Certificate III minimum, Australian equivalent);
* MEM40119 – Certificate IV in Engineering; and/or
* MEM50119 – Diploma of Engineering – Advanced Trade
and
* ability to demonstrate a broad range of current industry skills and experience.

Casual
$113.16 gross per hour (TAFE Queensland Educators' Certified Agreement 2023)
Teacher
$91.202.92 - $103,240.52 gross per annum (TAFE Queensland Educators' Certified Agreement 2023 )
* 12.75% superannuation
* 17.5% leave loading
* 4 weeks Recreation Leave (accrued annually)
* 5 weeks Non-Attendance Time (NAT) programmed annually for preparation
* Access to paid professional development
* Paid overtime arrangements may be available as per operational requirements
