Position Overview:
Pinnacle Hire is seeking an experienced and commercially driven State Manager – VIC / TAS / SA, based in Victoria, to lead operations across multiple states. This senior leadership role is accountable for end‑to‑end regional performance, including sales growth, financial outcomes, operational delivery, and team leadership across multiple branches. You will partner closely with Operations, Sales, Finance, and Executive Leadership to deliver strong commercial results, effective contract and project execution, and exceptional customer service.
As a confident and strategic leader, you will own regional reporting, forecasting, and performance reviews, providing clear insights to support informed decision‑making and sustainable growth. You will drive accountability, align teams to business objectives, proactively resolve issues, and play a critical role in strengthening Pinnacle Hire's market presence across Victoria, Tasmania, and South Australia while contributing to the company's long‑term success.
Key Responsibilities:
Regional Management
* Collaborate with the local team and fellow Regional Leaders to drive growth and increase market share across the Region.
* Ensure all products and services across business lines are meeting performance targets and staying within budget.
* Oversee effective financial management of regional budgets, including both sales revenue and expenditure control.
Team Leadership & Management
* Lead, support, and develop team members through day-to-day guidance, mentoring, and on-the-job coaching to drive individual and regional performance.
* Build team capability by providing training, conducting regular performance reviews, and managing performance to ensure service excellence and sustainable growth.
* Assist in the recruitment, induction, and ongoing development of new team members to strengthen team capability.
* Facilitate regular, informative, and engaging team meetings to promote alignment, communication, and a positive team culture.
Training & Support
* Regularly review and report on regional performance in collaboration with the Managing Director to ensure alignment with business goals.
* Build and maintain effective team structures and networks that support the company's objectives and operational success.
* Promote open, effective communication across the local team to encourage collaboration, maintain motivation, and support the achievement of sales targets.
Client Management- Major Key Accounts
* Take full responsibility for achieving growth targets for Key Major Accounts through developing and executing strategic plans that strengthen new and existing relationships.
* Lead negotiations to establish, enhance, and renew commercial agreements and business terms with Key Major Accounts.
* Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities, including managing tenders.
Projects/Contract Management
* Take full responsibility for the successful delivery of projects and contracts within the region, ensuring compliance with local laws, regulations, and OHS policies.
* Ensure timely and accurate invoicing that meets customer requirements.
Customer Service Management
* Manage the region to deliver optimal customer service, quality, and coverage.
* Oversee annual training programs across the network to maintain service readiness and competency.
* Manage the sub-contractor network to maximise profitability in operational activities.
* Ensure high levels of customer and contract retention are consistently maintained.
Strategic Planning, Communication and Forecasting
* Maintain strong collaboration and alignment with national support teams.
* Develop annual sales plans and calendars that integrate with broader company activities.
* Work with the Managing Director to prepare sales budgets and forecasts for the regional business unit.
* Monitor competitor activity and market changes, adapting strategies to address challenges and seize opportunities.
Financial Management & Reporting
* Provide timely monthly reports and analysis to the Managing Director, maintaining accurate and up-to-date databases.
* Review and analyse sales results to identify opportunities and recommend actions to maximise sales.
* Manage the financial performance of assigned budgets, overseeing both sales and expenditure effectively.
OH&S & Other
* Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to occupational health and safety policies and procedures, taking responsibility for your own safety and that of others.
* Undertake any additional projects or duties as directed by the Managing Director.
* Opex purchases within budget can be made up to $5,000; out-of-budget Opex purchases are limited to $1,000.
* Any Human Resource placements or changes to employment conditions must be approved in writing by the Managing Director.
Required Skills Qualifications & Experience
Education/Certificates
* Relevant tertiary qualification in a related field (desirable)
* Valid driver's licence (required)
* Valid passport (required)
Experience & Knowledge
* Have extensive background in managing multiple branches
* Proven track record in managing major customer accounts and achieving strong sales outcomes
* Demonstrated ability to manage over $5 million in annual sales revenue
* Strong financial management experience, including budgeting and forecasting
* Willing and able to travel domestically to visit regions, customers, and suppliers
* Commercially astute, with a strong customer focus and understanding of business drivers
* Inspirational, consultative leader with the ability to lead change and manage teams effectively
* Skilled in planning, prioritising, and managing multiple tasks systematically
* Highly effective communicator with strong negotiation and influencing skills
