Northern Building and Property Services is now looking for an experienced Glazier to join their team.
The right candidate will be responsible for:
- Determining the type and dimensions of glass required for each project, ensuring accuracy and suitability;
- Laying glass over patterns on padded tables and within jigs to prepare for cutting and shaping;
- Measuring and marking glass with precision to ensure clean and accurate cuts;
- Inspecting glass for imperfections and marking defective areas for removal or adjustment;
- Cutting glass along established patterns and templates to achieve the desired dimensions and shapes;
- Breaking off sheets and excess glass using notched tools and glass pliers to refine pieces;
- Installing glass and mirrors in windows, skylights, display cases, interior walls, and ceilings;
- Smoothing and finishing rough edges using belt sanders and smoothing wheels to ensure safety and quality;
- Coating, cutting, etching, trimming, or treating glass as required to achieve decorative or functional effects.
About you:
- At least 1 year of experience as a Glazier;
- Strong knowledge of glass types, cutting techniques, and installation methods;
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, patterns, and technical drawings with accuracy;
- Proficiency in measuring, marking, cutting, and fitting glass to precise specifications;
- Skilled in using hand tools and power tools safely, including glass cutters, pliers, and sanders;
- Experience installing glass in windows, doors, skylights, display cases, and interior fittings;
- Knowledge of glass treatment processes, including etching, coating, and trimming;
- Understanding of workplace safety standards and ability to follow WHS requirements at all times.
