Wunan Foundation is a leading Aboriginal development organisation based in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Its purpose is to ensure that Aboriginal people enjoy the capabilities and opportunities necessary to make positive choices that lead to independent, fulfilling lives.
The Quality and Compliance Officer supports the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Wunan's quality, workplace health and safety (WHS), safeguarding, and cultural safety frameworks.
The role ensures Wunan meets its legislative, regulatory, and contractual obligations, while fostering safe, inclusive, and culturally respectful environments for staff, clients, and community members. It acts as the system custodian for LOGIQC and related compliance registers, ensuring records are accurate, audit-ready, and support continuous improvement across the organisation.
Responsibilities (include)
* Support the implementation and maintenance of Wunan's quality and compliance frameworks, including safeguarding, Child Safe Standards, and cultural safety requirements.
* Act as system custodian for LOGIQC, ensuring compliance and WHS records are accurate, timely, and audit ready.
* Conduct compliance checks and report findings with recommendations for improvement.
* Support induction, training, and resources to ensure staff understand quality and compliance obligations.
* Support the roll-out of WHS policies, procedures, and safe work practices across all Wunan sites.
* Support initiatives that strengthen safe, inclusive environments for Aboriginal community members, staff, and visitors
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and monitor follow-up actions
* Provide administrative support for governance, audit, and risk processes.
* Ability to comply with legislative and other regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Experience (include):
* Qualification or potential to obtain an appropriate qualification in a relevant field such as Compliance, Quality Assurance, WHS or equivalent.
* Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to our organisation's products and services.
* Ability to work within a team environment and autonomously.
* Proven experience in providing administrative support, including experience in dealing with confidential matters
* Excellent communication skills at all levels and working as part of a team.
* Demonstrated proficiency and experience in the use of range of software applications (e.g. MS Office programs)
* Strong organisation, time management and planning skills.
Desirable criteria:
* Experience working in community and Indigenous in particular the East Kimberley
* Experience in using QA software such as LOGIQC
Pre-employment requirements
☒ Satisfactory Criminal History Check (not older than 6 months)
☒ Current Working with children clearance
☒ Current Australian unrestricted 'C' class Driver's license
