Listed By : NSW Department of Communities & Justice on 6 May 2025Psychologist - South Coast & Tablelands Youth Justice Community Offices, Youth Justice (73954)Youth Justice Community Offices,Youth Justice· Ongoing, Part time – 35 hours (5days) per fortnight· Location:Nowra (Queanbeyan and Batemans Bay can be considered)· Psychologist, Salary ($76,531 - $134,446 pro rata), plus employer'scontribution to superannuation and annual leave loadingThis is a targeted recruitment.While all applicants are welcome, preferencewill be given to candidates who meet the established standards of the role andare of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait islander descent.This is because the Department acknowledgesthis lived experience contributes a perspective valuable to our work with thiscommunityYour roleYouth Justice is looking for innovative anddynamic Psychologists to service their Community Offices based in Nowra,Goulburn, Queanbeyan, Batemans Bay, and Bega.· Operate as a member of a multi-disciplinaryteam, delivering psychological assessment, intervention, and therapeuticservices.· Provide a consultancy serviceto staff regarding the psychological needs of Youth Justice clients withincustodial and community locations, as well as advice to statutory authoritiessuch as the Parole Board.What you’ll do· Undertake psychological assessment, intervention, anddeliver therapeutic services or programs to young people who offend, includingthose who sexually offend.· Assist in the formulation and review of individual Risk -Needs - Responsivity based case plans for the management and supervision ofyoung people on remand or sentenced to a custodial or community order.· Deliver training to staff, including Youth JusticeCaseworkers, in the screening, identification and support of young people withmental health problems, intellectual disability or cognitive impairment.· Maintain confidential documentation, including electronicCase Notes on Client Information Management System, in accordance withdepartmental policies, APS guidelines on record keeping and professionalethics.· Prepare reports, advice, and consultation to statutoryauthorities such as Children’s Courts, the Serious Young Offenders ReviewPanel, State Parole Authority, and Mental Health Review Tribunal.· Be dynamic andable to think on their feet.· Responsive toindividual needs and situations.You will be part of a team of Youth Justice Psychologistsreporting to a Clinical Manager, providing psychological support to the variedunits within the Community Offices.What we’re looking for· Current provisional orfull registration with the Psychology Board of Australia:· A current Drivers’Licence with ability and willingness to travel throughout NSW.· Current NSW Workingwith Children Check clearance.Appointments are subject to reference checks.
