The Research & Development Lead is a therapeutic and operational strategy expert throughout the new business and program/project delivery lifecycle, providing innovative strategic responses to commercial and strategic business proposals.
This role requires strong commercial clinical research experience. The role is integral to early strategic engagement with the business development team and other stakeholders to ensure proposals are aligned with the client (both internal to GC and external). You will work closely with the Head of Strategy & Business Development to implement and manage research activities that are aligned with the company research strategy, and support growth through business development support.
You will partner with both internal and external key stakeholders to contribute to, lead and coordinate strategic projects and processes. You will work in a matrix environment from within the Strategy & Business Development department, leading cross-functional teams in designing such solutions and ensuring projects are set up to be successful from proposal development through to award.
What you'll do:
- Accountable for the creation of innovative and effective proposal strategies that meet client needs and differentiates GenesisCare from its competitors- Work with key internal stakeholders to analyse information and data that enables development of efficient and feasible delivery solutions. This may include, but is not limited to, protocol feasibility and risk management, assessment and management of the competitive landscape, optimal country and site distributions, site and patient recruitment strategies, monitoring and vendor strategies- Support the BD team in preparation of customer bid-defence meetings.- Translate the sold strategy to the delivery team and be an available resource for the delivery team when changes to strategy occur- Work in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including clinical trial funder representatives (commercial, internal, not-for-profit) and scientific committees (including subcommittees and working parties)- Plan, support & represent research strategy within assigned clinical projects &/or programs- Identify risks and issues, respond to issues raised by project team and plan/implement appropriate corrective and preventative action- Collaborate with other functional groups within the company to support milestone achievement and to manage issues and obstacles- Maintain open and regular communication with key stakeholders- Assist with the development and review of project plans and required study documents- Maintain up-to-date knowledge in regulatory, administrative and clinical frameworks and current clinical issues and practice as they pertain to research
Who you are:
- An undergraduate degree in Science, Nursing, Pharmacy or related discipline- At least 10 years of relevant working experience in clinical trial management, as project manager, or similar role in a CRO or pharmaceutical company- Proven track record of research project management &/or demonstrated ability to lead a project- Strong understanding of clinical trial costing and financial management- Possess extensive knowledge of clinical trial requirements during their lifecycle from start up to close out, including a detailed understanding of the regulatory, ethical and governance processes and requirements in Australia (including a thorough knowledge of ICH GCP)- Excellent time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and achieve required outcomes,- Structured approach to problem solving in complex and emerging contexts- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in an effective, proactive & co-operative manner- Ability to combine strategic outlook with detail orientation- High level of initiative and flexibility and the ability to meet deadlines while balancing multiple priorities- Excellent knowledge of clinical trial regulatory frameworks for key regions in which GenesisCare operates- Strong computer literacy with knowledge of clinical trials software & MS Office suite.
