Senior iOS Engineer

Senior iOS Engineer responsible for leading technical direction, building quality architecture, mentoring, ensuring platform performance, and integrating with backend services.

Responsibilities

* Drive the technical direction for squads, ensuring cohesive scalable systems.
* Translate high‐level blueprints into actionable patterns and prototype solutions for scaling and performance.
* Own the end‐to‐end lifecycle of services, simplifying and resolving blockers.
* Contribute to and extend shared organizational patterns and platforms.
* Set framework for testing, documentation, and version control; manage technical debt.
* Continuously evaluate and optimize SDLC for better outcomes.
* Stay updated on industry trends and evaluate new technologies for platform improvements.
* Coach and mentor junior/mid‐level engineers fostering a culture of high performance.
* Lead technical discussions, collaborate across teams, and act as primary technical point of contact for leadership.
* Participate in communities of practice to share learnings across the tech function.

Qualifications

* 5+ years of hands‐on experience in native iOS development.
* Proven track record designing and architecting mobile solutions for scale.
* Leadership experience shipping at least one major feature in a mobile application.
* Experience optimizing engineering practices and processes in Agile environments.
* Mentoring background with junior and mid‐level engineers.
* Cross‐functional collaboration experience with Product, Design, and Tech.
* Experience with microservices architecture integrated with mobile frontends.
* Active contributor to iOS community or internal best practice groups.
* Experience with GraphQL or similar technology.

Technical Skills

* Deep expertise in Swift and legacy support for Objective‐C.
* Proficient with iOS SDK and core frameworks (Foundation, UIKit, Combine).
* Strong knowledge of architecture patterns such as MVVM, VIPER, or TCA.
* Advanced UI/UX implementation using SwiftUI and UIKit, following Apple HIG.
* Performance optimisation, profiling with Instruments.
* Experience with XCTest, XCUITest, TDD practices.
* Understanding of ARC, memory and battery optimisation.
* RESTful API and GraphQL integration via URLSession or Apollo, Codable usage.
* Familiarity with Xcode, Swift Package Manager, CocoaPods, Git.
* Accessibility principles (VoiceOver, Dynamic Type).
* Build automation with fastlane, CI tools such as GitHub Actions, Bitrise.
* App Store Connect & TestFlight release processes.

Experience

Experience working with Tech leads to optimise engineering practices and processes.

Experience in Agile environments.

Education and Certifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
