Lead the change, from the frontline
Based in Melbourne, the Senior Product Manager (Fixed Term) is within the retail, customer-facing arm of our business, Powershop Australia, who sells energy plans and energy solutions to residential and small business customer. This role is also responsible for managing a small team.
The primary objective of the role is to improve the customer and commercial outcomes of the business, through the delivery of a portfolio of innovative product & proposition solutions. As a key member of the Product Team, you will work closely with the Head of Commercial Strategy & Product, and teammates across the business in Melbourne to develop products and solutions that stimulate growth and reduce churn to enable the business to meet our commercial and strategic objectives. This role needs a motivated, hands-on senior retail energy product manager with particular focus on the energy tariffs, propositions, new technology and products, that underpin successful energy products. They should understand and be able to dissect the customer journey & experience as well as business operations and processes and be someone who can deliver cross-functional projects and change management program documentation

* Drive the Product & Propositions strategy to deliver enhanced customer experiences that contribute better outcomes for customers and the business.
o Define and develop new products and propositions, and grow/improve existing products, from concept and market research through to business modelling and delivery, consider:
+ Customer, market and business insights.
+ Operational and system capabilities.
+ Financial and commercial impacts, including driving product profitability and customer lifetime value as key inputs into strategy and plans.
+ Regulatory and legal requirements.
o Have knowledge of industry trends to discover opportunities for new/improved offers, tariffs and services, and undertake critical analysis of competitors and market segments to identify profitable product opportunities and positioning.
o Project manage team members across the business through implementation and launch, then monitor and improve operations during hypercare period after launch.
* Product management on other products in the portfolio as required
* Lead cross-functional teams through complex design and delivery challenges to rapidly launch new products & propositions.
* Work with Marketing team to ensure Products and Propositions align to organisational Customer.
* Value Proposition and support the marketing and communication strategy.
* Develop Product & Proposition solutions that reduce Churn and increase loyalty over time.
* Demonstrate best practice product and project management via:
o Process development, documentation and improvement.
o Customer journey mapping, including onboarding and lifecycle events, identifying areas for development and improvement.
o Present proposals to senior stakeholders to gain approvals.
o Analyse data sets to generate insights to inform business and project decisions.
* Ensure product metrics, reporting and insights are robust and produce practical, useful strategic insights. Monitor the performance of products in the market (whether Proof of Concepts, MVPs or live) and develop improvement plans as necessary.
* Develop strong working relationships and work closely with the Sales, Pricing Operations, Digital
* Product and Marketing teams to ensure that propositions align with our customer value proposition, sales strategy and operational capabilities. In addition to Regulatory Compliance and Legal to ensure solutions are compliant.

In addition to the below, we need a Product Manager who excels at internal stakeholder management and relationship building, to create efficient ways of working and encourage learning mindset to drive outcomes.
* Energy industry experiences essential with;
* Excellent understanding of energy rates and tariffs and the impact this can have on customers and their products;
* Experience in business product management analysis and frameworks;
* Independent and motivated, with ability to perform well in a team environment;
* Presentation: ability to present to stakeholders in a clearly, concisely and confidently, both verbally and written; and advanced PowerPoint skills desirable;
* Commercial modelling: intermediate modelling and Excel;
* Provent project management skills;
* Experience in and application of product development frameworks;
* Experience with customer testing;
* Ability to develop comprehensive business cases and effective presentation of complex ideas;
* Ability to understand, visualise and breakdown complex processes.
* Proven ownership and responsibility in their day-to-day work
