The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world.
Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.
Purpose of the Role
Responsible for a high quality, customer focused estimating service to the project, by developing, maintaining and analysing costs in the estimating database.
Qualifications
* A Technicians certificate or Quantity Surveyor qualification or Associate Diploma in Engineering or Business Administration
* White Card
Experience
* Minimum 2 years' experience working in the Construction Industry in a similar role – preferred
* Experience working on large scale construction projects or other suitable projects works
* Experience in the use of estimating computer system software in particular Microsoft Excel and CCS Candy
* Experience in preparation and analysis of estimates primarily infrastructure projects
Experience in cost management
Required Competencies
* Demonstrated ability to develop sound working relationships with operations management in the delivery of value added management information
* Excellent communication, organisational and problem solving skills
* A pro‑active approach with the capability to adapt to changing priorities
* Ability to meet deadlines and put in the time needed to get the job done.
* Possess strong mathematical and computer skills. Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
* Effective oral and written communication skills
* Strong organisational, interpersonal skills.
* Attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities
* Prepare cost estimates for all work programs, projects. Future planning and business developments that meet the needs of the project
* Develop, maintain and analyse cost in the estimating database.
* Evaluation of Contractor tender costs and provide structure for contractors to supply cost data.
* Produce estimates for Change Requests and analyse/evaluate variations from contractors and provide adhoc estimates to the project.
* Assist in the management, coordination and monitoring of work by external estimating consultants ensuring their outputs are accurate and comply with customer requirements.
