An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and passionate Outdoor Education Coordinator to join St Leonard's College in 2025. Reporting to the Head of Outdoor and Experiential Education, the Outdoor Education Coordinator will join the OED team in driving the experiential educational excellence of students across Years 2 – 12.
To facilitate the development and delivery of Outdoor and Experiential Education programs, there are two OED coordinators that work together to oversee a team of part-time and casual Outdoor Educators.
Working collaboratively with other key staff, the Outdoor Education Coordinator will contribute to the leadership of the OED program at the College, through the management of a portfolio of OED programs. The ability to develop, coordinate and deliver sequential innovative, and exceptional OED programs for students is essential, as well as strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
This pivotal position offers a unique opportunity to shape the development of our students, through fostering a positive and successful environment for student and staff excellence.
Dependent on the qualifications of the successful candidate, this role may be offered as an ongoing teaching position with a three (3) year tenured position of responsibility, or as an ongoing full-time general staff position.

To be successful in this opportunity you will require:
* Either current VIT Registration or current Victorian Working with Children Check.
* Relevant teaching qualifications or OED qualifications relevant to the design, delivery and evaluation of OED programs e.g. Bachelor of Outdoor Education, Bachelor of Outdoor Leadership/Recreation, Cert IV in Outdoor Leadership or higher relevant tertiary qualifications.
* Extensive working knowledge in the OED industry, including best practice and experience.
* Understanding of the role of OED programs as part of the cocurricular offerings in schools.
* Experience with leading young people on multiday remote wilderness journey-based adventures and residential activity-based programs.
* Strong interpersonal skills including experience leading and managing staff.
* Strong organisational skills including experience in managing financial components of programs.
* Be available to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and during non-term periods.
* Confident in use of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other technologies.
* Be an active contributor to a collegial work environment.
* Willingness to uphold the ethos and values of the College.
