About the Role: We are seeking a capable and collaborative Communications professional to manage and deliver proactive internal and external communications supporting operational and infrastructural activities across Sydney. This role plays a critical part in ensuring customers, community members, stakeholders, and government agencies receive accurate, timely, and consistent information in a fast-paced operational environment. You will work closely with operational teams to support regular communications, stakeholder engagement, and broader organisational communication objectives. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain best-practice communication strategies for operational, maintenance, and incident activities Act as the primary point of contact for customer and stakeholder enquiries, complaints, and community concerns Draft and distribute network alerts, notifications, web updates, and other communications Coordinate public advisories and content updates with government and transport stakeholders Prepare and manage planned notifications and community updates Maintain website and social media communications during major events Develop media responses, briefing notes, and key messaging for senior management Maintain communication records, logs, templates, and standard operating procedures. Key Skills Required: Degree or Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Media, Journalism, or related discipline Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar field Industry experience in government, infrastructure, transport, construction, operations, emergency services, or similar communications environments is preferred but not essential Strong experience managing stakeholder engagement, community communications, and sensitive issues Excellent written communication, media liaison, and relationship management skills Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic operational environment.
