Job Description
As an Environment, Health & Safety professional, you will play a key role in driving cultural change and ensuring safety is front of mind for the Ballarat Infrastructure Upgrade project. Your expertise will help manage risks across the project, implementing emergency plans and deploying Alstom EHS standards.
Responsibilities:
* Conducting thorough risk assessments and defining control measures at Project sites and work groups.
* Preparing, implementing, and maintaining emergency plans to ensure timely responses.
* Managing subcontractors' activities regarding EHS, especially where interfaces are involved with other contractors or operational areas.
* Deploying Alstom EHS standards and tools at Project level.
* Monitoring compliance with statutory, regulatory, contractual, and company requirements, proposing corrective actions.
* Influencing and adjusting EHS culture as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Relevant qualifications in a related discipline (e.g., Diploma in EHS, Bachelor Degree).
* A strong working knowledge of local legal requirements, particularly in Rail Safety.
* Initiative, drive, resilience, and ability to influence people at all levels within the project.
* Previous experience working within the rail industry or similar safety-critical environment.
* A strong knowledge of safe working systems, rules, and procedures.
* The ability to lead and motivate people to achieve desired results.
