This is an opportunity to step into a high-impact Product Owner role at the centre of one of the Australian Government's most significant digital transformation programs.
You'll be working across complex, nationally important platforms that support regulation, data transparency and large-scale digital services. This is not a "ticket-shuffling" PO role - you'll be trusted to shape outcomes, influence direction, and balance delivery with long-term product maturity.
The Role As a Product Owner, you will sit at the intersection of policy intent, business needs and technical delivery. You'll own the backlog end-to-end, guide prioritisation in a complex environment, and enable delivery teams to build solutions that genuinely work for users.
You'll work closely with business stakeholders, delivery teams and senior leaders to translate strategic objectives into clear, achievable product outcomes - while navigating competing priorities, fixed deadlines and evolving regulatory requirements.
What You'll Be Responsible For
* Owning and prioritising the product backlog to align with organisational strategy and delivery commitments
* Partnering with business stakeholders to deeply understand user needs and translate them into customer-centric solutions
* Working closely with Scrum Teams to guide story development, acceptance criteria and delivery sequencing
* Contributing to product roadmaps that clearly articulate how products will evolve over time
* Supporting architectural runway planning to ensure delivery is sustainable and scalable
* Actively engaging stakeholders to gather feedback and refine objectives across Program Increments
* Representing the end user and advocating for usability, clarity and value in every release
About You
You're a confident, pragmatic Product Owner who can operate comfortably in complex environments. You're able to balance strategy with delivery, challenge constructively, and make clear decisions when trade-offs are required.
You're not afraid of ambiguity — you bring structure to it.
You'll bring:
* 3+ years' experience as a Product Owner (or equivalent Agile delivery role)
* Strong understanding of the Digital Service Standard
* Experience working in large, complex or regulated environments (government experience highly regarded)
* Relevant Product Owner, Agile or SAFe certifications
* A delivery mindset grounded in outcomes, not process theatre
