* Paying up to $150ph + super
* No fixed hours or days - maximum of 20 hours per week.

About the Role
Our clients are a well-known NSW State Government agency responsible for leading the development and delivery of key government water infrastructure projects and programs across the state. They are currently seeking an Environmental Compliance Officer to come in and work with them on a contract role in the Deniliquin area, along with regular travel to construction sites within a couple of hours of the area.
Candidates for this role must have experience in Environmental Auditing, ideally on Water infrastructure projects.
Candidates must also have flexibility to work a schedule with no fixed hours or days. Work schedule and hours are decided based on activities and work requirements for that week. Some weeks may have 1 working day, others slightly more, but with a maximum of 20 hours per week.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Ensure all construction activities comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and approval conditions
* Review and monitor compliance with site Construction Environmental Management Plans in line with Water Group requirements
* Conduct site inspections, audits, and environmental monitoring (e.g., water quality, noise, dust) and report non-compliance or incidents
* Liaise with contractors, regulatory agencies and Traditional Owners to ensure environmental expectations are met
* Provide environmental induction and ongoing training to site personnel to promote best practices

About You
You will be an experienced Environmental Compliance Officer with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.
The successful candidate will possess:
* Environmental Auditing certifications, with experience in a complex infrastructure environment
* Environmental Sensitivity of construction sites, ie working near water bodies, wetlands, or culturally significant sites increases the risk and complexity of compliance
* Ability to conduct site inspections, including walking (sometimes) long distances and exposure to construction hazards.
* Flexibility to work a schedule with no fixed hours or days
* NSW White Card
* Valid Drivers License.
