About the Role
Sime Darby Industrial is on the hunt for a Tax Specialist to join our growing team at our South Brisbane office. This is a permanent, Monday to Friday role.
As a Tax Specialist, you will:
1. Assist in managing the fulfilment of the Sime Darby Industrial Group’s tax reporting, compliance and advisory obligations in Australia, PNG, Solomon Islands, New Zealand and New Caledonia.
2. Preparation of income tax, GST, IAS, WHT, NRI, FBT returns, transfer pricing, employment taxes and associated workpapers for the Sime Darby Industrial Group.
3. Preparation of tax effect accounting and tax notes on a quarterly and yearly basis.
4. Deliver timely, high-quality and customer focused technical advice on operational and structural issues to the Sime Darby Industrial Group.
5. Proactively contribute to regulator engagement, including the ATO justified trust program.
6. Adhere to Sime Darby Industrial Group tax risk appetite and tax governance standards.
7. Operationalise, implement and enhance Sime Darby Industrial Group tax internal control structure.
8. Manage the development of appropriate training, sign off procedures and initial review procedures in relation to tax compliance activities.
9. Actively maintain current knowledge of tax issues and developments, monitor tax law changes and emerging ATO views.
10. Analysis of industry issues to provide insights about emerging tax risks/opportunities for the Sime Darby Industrial Group.
11. Grow and maintain strategic business relationships across the Sime Darby Industrial Group and with advisors, ATO and industry bodies.
