Armajun Aboriginal Health Service is looking to recruit a full-time, Programs Worker. (Aboriginal Designated)
There is currently an opportunity for a full-time, Programs Worker, to join our team.
This position aims to increase opportunities for Aboriginal people where health, behavioural, social and emotional wellbeing issues is effecting their capacity to manage and/or improve their health and life opportunities.
This role will provide direct support to Aboriginal community members and their families, improving and facilitating their access to services, including primary health care, as well as enabling best practice care to be delivered by relevant service providers.

Selection Criteria
Essential:
1. Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent*.
2. Previous experience working with community controlled organisations, Aboriginal clients and capacity to communicate with Aboriginal communities and services.
3. Demonstrated community development and service planning skills within a multidisciplinary health service delivery model.
4. Ability to build relationships with all levels of the Organisation and Community
5. Demonstrated high-level and effective written and verbal communication, consultation and negotiation skills, including proficiency in the use of computer software applications.
6. Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and to work with minimal supervision, as well as the capacity to work positively and co-operatively within a diverse team environment;
7. Initiative, accountability and self-motivation. Demonstrated experience working with minimal supervision.
8. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
9. Current unrestricted drivers license
10. Current Working with Children's Check (WWCC) and National Police Check or willingness to undertake.
Desirable:
1. Have experience working with health service agencies, non-government organisations and community groups.
2. Qualifications in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (Practice) at Certificate III or IV level.
