Multiple opportunities are available at Cleveland Education and Training Centre for teachers looking to join a welcoming and supportive team environment. Applicants must be able to work a roster which will include working school holidays. Holiday leave entitlements remain the same as other state school teachers and are guaranteed a 4-week break at the end of the year that aligns with normal school holidays.
Cleveland Education & Training Centre (CETC) is a Department of Education school operating within the Cleveland Youth Detention Centre at Townsville. The catchment area for the Centre comprises the area graphically north from Rockhampton, west to the border and Island communities off the Queensland coastline.
Our school offers a range of pathways and employment-focused VET courses to assist in closing individual skills gaps, develop language, positive behaviours, and social skills which are a prerequisite for further study or a pathway to employment. Older students engage with vocational programs which support either transition into education, employment, or training.

o For this role, we are interested in talking to teachers with the ability to teach in any technologies specialty area including food productions, sewing, etc.

Applicants for these positions must possess:
* Must be able to work in a detention centre and support students to achieve learning outcomes.
* A relevant teaching qualification.
* Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland. Pre-service/graduate teachers must have been granted provisional registration prior to commencing employment as a teacher.
* Employment for pre-service/graduate teachers will be subject to the successful completion of a relevant teaching qualification and meeting the minimum requirements as a teacher with the department.
* Working rights in Australia, which means you have, or you are eligible to obtain a valid Australian Visa with work rights (if you're not already an Australian Citizen or resident).
