About the role

We are seeking an experienced Theatre Manager to lead the operational and technical management of our School's performing arts venue, The Nairn Theatre. This role is central to the ongoing success of the theatre, working closely with the Director of Performing Arts, Heads of School, and a talented team of staff to deliver outstanding productions and events. This is a rare opportunity to manage one of Australia's leading school theatres. The Nairn Theatre is widely regarded as one of the finest school theatres in Australia, offering an exceptional environment for student-led productions and events. The venue features:

* A 530-seat auditorium with a spacious stage and generous orchestra pit.
* A 200-seat experimental theatre on the ground floor.
* Dedicated green room, prop and costume storage and teaching studios.
* Superb acoustics, making it a highly sought-after venue for music and performance lovers.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage the day-to-day operations of the Nairn Theatre.
* Provide technical support for audio, lighting, staging across productions and events.
* Act as production and stage manager for major school performances and events.
* Mentor and supervise VET trainees, supporting their practical learning and professional development.
* Coordinate theatre schedules, staffing and rosters, ensuring efficient and safe operations.

About you

* Proven experience in theatre operations, production and stage management, preferably in an educational or performing arts environment.
* Advanced technical knowledge of audio, lighting and stage equipment.
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) highly desirable.
* Strong organisational, time management and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Working with Children (Blue Card), First Aid, and CPR certification.
