is looking for an experienced and qualified Fitter to join our thriving workshop in the Maintenance Department in Townsville on a permanent basis.
Job Responsibilities
Read and interpret technical diagrams, and specifications to identify faults and guide repair or fabrication work.
Service and maintain vessels, hydraulic systems, cranes, forklifts, power packs, generators, and related equipment.
Dismantle, repair, and reassemble mechanical systems and components in accordance with engineering and operational requirements.
Assemble, fit, and align mechanical parts, systems, and subassemblies to required specifications and tolerances.
Operate machines and equipment to machine, fabricate, modify, or adjust components with precision.
Test, calibrate, and adjust machines and equipment to ensure correct function, safe operation, and optimal performance.
Maintain accurate service logs, repair reports, and maintenance documentation, including status updates on equipment performance and faults.
Ensure all maintenance, repair, and fabrication activities comply with workplace health and safety standards, manufacturer guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
About the candidate
The successful candidate will be excited to work in a workshop maintaining a broad array of equipment and machinery including, but not limited to: PMG vessels, hydraulic equipment, cranes/forklifts, power packs, and generators. Mechanically minded, a "can do" attitude, and keen attention to detail will take you far in this ever changing and exciting business.
The successful candidate will be specialised in diesel or mechanical fitting, equipment repair, and preventative servicing across a range of machinery and mechanical systems. They must be able to work independently and in a team whilst complying with company and WHS requirements.
Candidate Requirements
Construction Industry White Card
At least certificate III (mechanical fitting, engineering) or a relevant field
Skills and Experience (Mandatory)
Minimum five (5) years in a related field
Experience in marine environments highly preferred
Previous experience with a variety of equipment and machinery
