We are looking for an Assistant Manager to keep the Federal Hotel buzzing and loved by the locals. The Federal Hotel is a family‐friendly pillar of the Mt Gambier community, offering a distinct hospitality experience with a bistro featuring local and sustainable produce, a sports bar with a refined pub‐classics menu, and affordable guest accommodation. Whether it's a milestone celebration or a casual pint with the game, we pride ourselves on being the region's go‐to destination for locals and travellers alike.
A Day In The Life Of An Assistant Manager
* Get to know the locals so well they think you're part of the crew.
* Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe.
* Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends.
* Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches.
* Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift.
Inherent Requirements
* This hands‐on role involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g., moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.
About You
* You've been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising.
* You've learned from great managers and are now ready to step up.
* You have the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away.
* You possess a current RSA and RSG/RCG as per state requirements.
