2 days ago Be among the first 25 applicantsGet AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.The Azure Core New Tech team is seeking engineers eager to assist with the New Technology onboarding process: automating hardware verification, management, and delivery to Microsoft datacenters for Azure, High-Performance Computing, Office, and Edge Computing products.
The team operates at the intersection of software and hardware, creating technology to validate, onboard, and manage hardware throughout its lifecycle—from arrival to disposal—while tracking metadata and ensuring quality and security.
The team supports expanding capacity for Microsoft services and leads in integrating new hardware platforms into the cloud.
Focus areas include automating management and tracking of the onboarding process to accelerate bringing new technologies to market.As a Software Engineer within the Azure Core New Tech team, your role involves understanding requirements, designing solutions, and implementing features to enable new technologies.
This role offers opportunities to grow your skills in both software and hardware through collaboration with various Azure teams, learning about emerging industry technologies, and driving innovation in Azure.The team offers a flexible work environment with hands-on hardware experience and hybrid work options.Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and organization to achieve more.
We foster a culture of respect, integrity, and inclusion, encouraging a growth mindset, innovation, and collaboration.Location: Sydney or MelbourneResponsibilities Collaborate with stakeholders to determine user requirements.Identify dependencies and develop design documents for products, applications, or platforms.Develop, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to improve performance, maintainability, and ROI.Leverage expertise and partner with stakeholders to drive project and release plans.Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), guiding other engineers, monitoring systems, and initiating corrective actions as needed.Seek new knowledge, adapt to trends, and improve product reliability, efficiency, and performance, while ensuring consistency in monitoring and operations.Qualifications Required:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field AND 4+ years of engineering experience with languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.Preferred:8+ years of experience with a Bachelor's or 6+ years with a Master's in Computer Science or related field, with proficiency in the listed languages, or equivalent experience.Experience with operating systems like Linux or FreeBSD, hardware driver development, kernel debugging, network stack, IPv6, and network analysis.Strong collaboration, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.Other Requirements Ability to meet security screening requirements, including Microsoft Cloud Background Check.Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer.
