This position is situated in Darwin or Alice Springs with the Flora and Fauna Division which has primary responsibility for the provision of technical and policy advice on terrestrial and aquatic biodiversity conservation management in the Northern Territory.
Responsibilities
This position will lead the implementation of the Terrestrial Ecology program which has four functions:
Landscape or ecosystem-scale terrestrial biodiversity assessment and applied research to address strategic knowledge gaps
Monitoring of key ecosystem assets & pressures
Providing authoritative advice around ecosystem management and monitoring to diverse users and stakeholders
Developing and maintaining partnerships relating to ecosystem management, monitoring and research.
This position is ongoing, and it represents an excellent opportunity for a mid- or senior-career scientist to implement terrestrial ecosystem monitoring, research and assessment projects across the Northern Territory of Australia.
