Wiggins Island Coal Export Terminal (WICET) is a world class, industry-owned and privately funded terminal located at the Port of Gladstone. This modern, state of the art terminal was built to expand the region's coal export capacity, becoming operational in 2016. WICET is a $4 billion investment which operates with a high degree of automation and is committed to operating in a safe, environmentally friendly and socially responsible manner.
We currently have an opportunity to take on two (2) Engineering Vacation Students for a 4 month period from November to February during University holidays. As a vacation student at WICET you will be provided with the opportunity to work at our Terminal in Gladstone, gaining practical industry skills that will be invaluable to you in entering the workplace upon completion of your studies.
The successful candidate will be provided with the following opportunities:
* Working collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams to assist in achieving business outcomes.
* Develop relationships with experienced professionals and experts.
* Gain invaluable practical experience.
* Work on small engineering projects.
* Work with trades to gain an understanding of the plant and operations.
What you bring to the role:
* Currently completing university studies in one of the following fields:
o Engineering – Electrical or Mechanical
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
* Enthusiasm and willingness to learn across all areas of the business.
* Commitment and strong work ethic.
* A commitment to working safely.
