About the Program
The Youth Trauma Service ACT supports trauma-informed, community-based services for young people aged 13–17 who have experienced trauma and are at risk of mental ill-health. These initiatives aim to strengthen safety, improve coordination across the mental health system, and ensure young people receive tailored, developmentally appropriate support.
These services are grounded in trauma-informed care, evidence-based interventions, and integrated practice. They focus on empowering young people with choice and autonomy, while building a skilled workforce capable of recognising and responding to trauma. Together, these elements create a holistic, consistent, and responsive approach to recovery for young people and their families.
