Position overview
The Centre for Indigenous Economic Transformation (CIET) is an Indigenous-led national hub advancing economic self-determination through research, policy and partnerships. CIET works alongside First Nations leaders, organisations, governments, industry, investors and philanthropy to support practical reform and long-term systems change across areas including economic and fiscal reform, access to capital and investment, Indigenous trade, data sovereignty and clean energy transitions.
We are seeking an experienced senior leader to join the Centre as Deputy Director and help shape the next phase of its growth and impact.
Working closely with the Centre Director, the Deputy Director will provide executive leadership across the Centre's operations, partnerships, programs and education activities, supporting the Centre's growth, governance and long-term sustainability. The role will play a key leadership role in translating the Centre's vision and strategy into practical delivery and impact.
The position
Reporting to the Centre Director, you will:
* lead implementation of the Centre's strategic priorities and annual work plans
* provide leadership across the Centre's Projects and Collaboration and Education and Professional Development streams
* oversee major projects, partnerships and stakeholder engagement activities
* lead governance, planning, reporting and operational activities across the Centre
* act as a key member of the Centre's executive leadership team, providing leadership continuity and strategic oversight across the organisation
* build and maintain strategic relationships with First Nations organisations, governments, industry, philanthropy and research partners
* strengthen collaboration across ANU colleges, schools and professional service areas
* support the development and delivery of education, professional development and capability-building initiatives
* lead and support professional staff across multiple functions and work areas
* contribute to partnership development, funding opportunities and long‐term Centre sustainability
* represent the Centre with stakeholders and partners nationally and internationally
