Synergie Australia is seeking multiple APS5 Community & Peer Workers for a trusted client located in Darwin.
The important parts:
1. Pay: $61.18–$63.76 per hour + Super
2. Duration: 12-months (potential for a 12-month extension)
3. Hours: Monday–Friday
4. Location: Darwin
5. Start: March 2026
What you will be required to do:
As a Community & Peer Worker, you will play a critical role in supporting veterans and their families to navigate services, strengthen wellbeing, and build sustainable connections within their communities. You will:
6. Provide peer-informed support and guidance
7. Assist individuals to access services and entitlements
8. Build relationships with community stakeholders and service providers
9. Contribute to improved wellbeing outcomes for veterans and their families
10. Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
To be successful in the role you will:
You bring strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders. You thrive in community-facing roles and are passionate about making a genuine difference.
Experience in community services, case management, veteran support, or government programs will be highly regarded. Only Australian citizens can apply.
Essential Requirements
11. Australian Citizenship
12. Personal Lived Experience of military service or military family life, and a mental health journey (self or as a carer of an ex-ADF member highly regarded)
13. Working With Children and/or Vulnerable People Check (or ability to obtain)
14. Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance (AGSVA)
15. Strong communication skills and high emotional intelligence
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
16. Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (or willingness to obtain)
17. Experience delivering lived experience peer support
18. Background in the mental health sector, mentoring, coaching, or community services
19. Experience working within multidisciplinary environments
