The Role
Are you passionate about making a real difference in people's lives? As an Employment Consultant you will play a vital role in helping individuals with disabilities overcome barriers and achieve sustainable employment. You will build meaningful relationships with job seekers, working closely with them, employers, support services, and internal teams to deliver tailored support that drives positive employment outcomes.
This role will require flexibility to travel within the Northam area. A pool car is accessible for travel between offices during work time.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain secure, confidential customer records per National Standards and IEA Grant Agreement.
* Build strong relationships with customers, employers, and colleagues.
* Provide job search support, referrals, on-site assistance, training, and job matching.
* Identify and manage risks promptly while maintaining professional boundaries.
* Conduct pre-interview assessments, develop job plans, and monitor progress.
* Coordinate job clubs and training activities.
* Maintain accurate records and initiate compliance actions.
* Engage employers to source vacancies and place job seekers.
* Deliver post-placement support and mentoring to ensure job retention.
Qualifications & Licences
* Cert 4 in Employment Services (preferred but not essential as full training is provided)
* Current Working with Children check (or ability to obtain one)
* NDIS Workers Screening check (or ability to obtain one)
* Current National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain one)
* Valid WA 'C' class driver's licence (essential)
Skills & Knowledge
* Strong understanding of employment barriers and support strategies.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
* Knowledge of WHS legislation and compliance standards.
* Competency in maintaining confidentiality and data security.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
* Proficiency with CRM systems and IT tools for reporting and record keeping.
* Risk identification and management skills.
Experience
* Experience working with diverse customer groups, including people with disabilities.
* Demonstrated success in employer engagement and job seeker placement.
* Experience delivering post-placement support and mentoring to achieve sustainable employment outcomes (preferred).
