Primary Duties
Analysing specifications and drawings, and sourcing and requesting quotes for supply of make-to-order materials and components for EOS Defence System production requirements from external vendors and EOS partners.
Liaise with relevant EOS DS stakeholders as needed to resolve queries and to ensure all required information is available to complete the RFQ and purchase process.
Selection of appropriate vendors for the supply of make-to-order materials in accordance with EOS DS technical, engineering and commercial objectives.
Negotiation of pricing and lead time with selected vendors for the supply of make-to order items to meet project and production requirements.
Maintain awareness of vendor lead times to deliver items critical to production.
Negotiate changes to lead times with vendors as required, and update systems.
Work with Production Planners to ensure adequate stock levels are held to align with the Production Schedule to meet company objectives.
Creating an appropriate delivery schedule when raising Purchase Orders (quantity, batch, and delivery dates) to meet Production demand.
Obtaining and ensuring financial approvals are obtained for the procurement of maketo-order items in accordance with EOS DS processes and procedures.
Where the requirement to onboard new suppliers is identified, undertake vendor checks and onboarding activities in accordance with EOS DS processes and procedures.
In conformance with EOS DS policies, guidelines, and sourcing strategies, negotiate formal agreements with strategic suppliers as directed.
Assist Purchasing team with the expediting of open orders with vendors to meet required delivery dates, including liaising with vendors to understand delays and what EOS DS can do to resolve them.
Communicate with vendors regarding specification and quality issues and request concessions from EOS DS' Engineering stakeholders following EOS DS processes and procedures.
Negotiate and manage the return of identified articles (eg. Items failing inspection) to vendors for timely rework or financial credit in accordance with EOS DS' agreed disposition and processes and procedures.
Support the objectives of the EOS DS Quality team, including attendance and participation in Supplier Audits as required, and follow up of supplier non-conformances identified.
Communication of quality inspection requirements to vendors (eg. First Article inspection).
Undertake supplier relationship management activities for certain key suppliers as allocated, including but not limited to holding regular meetings, conducting capability and capacity reviews, and performance discussions.
Provide coaching and direction to Purchasing Officers as required to assist in the improvement, quality and management of Purchase Orders.
Preparing governance reports to VP Supply Chain including overdue PO reports, consumable and low stock level reports.
Deputise for the Strategic Sourcing Manager as directed.
Deputise for the Purchasing Manager as directed, eg.
during leave periods.
Including raising Purchase Orders and issue to vendors as required in accordance with EOS DS processes and procedures.
Actively participate in Work, Health and Safety and Continuous Improvement activities.
Other duties as required by the Strategic Sourcing Manager.
This role is responsible for the sourcing and procurement of make-to-order items from external vendors, and for managing on-time delivery and technical and quality issues relating to such supplies in accordance with EOS commercial, production, and supply chain management objectives.
Qualifications
Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and Bills of Materials.
Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing trade or degree qualification
APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) highly regarded
CIPS accreditations highly regarded.

Experience
Comprehensive experience in international sourcing and procurement.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role with manufacturing and / or engineering organisation, OEM, FMCG, recognised Supply Chains.
Experience in interpreting requirements of, and sourcing products and materials using engineering drawings and specifications
Experience with certain manufacturing processes and procedures, eg.
Metal fabrication or electronic devices desirable.
Experience working with ERP systems and MRP systems
