Core duties and responsibilities
* Prepare metal surfaces using abrasive blast-cleaning techniques, such as sandblasting and grinding for implementation of rubber lining
* Inject compressed air into metal vessels to bong lining to metal vessel walls and introduce live steam or place article in autoclave to vulcanise rubber lining
* Routinely work with and prepare metal vessels (such as pipes, tanks, launders, cyclones, distributors, etc) for application of cured and pre-cured rubber linings
* Routinely apply hot and cold vulcanisation techniques on metal mine site processing equipment, including pipes, tanks, launders, cyclones and distributors to facilitate installation, maintenance and repair of rubber linings.
* Repair and modify existing metal structures to prepare them for rubber lining works
* Use cutting tools, welding equipment, and forming machines to create precise metal components
* Mark off and fabricate metal components, brackets, and structural supports required for rubber lining installations
* Align parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments to ensure precise fit
* Complete all required safety documentation before commencing works including G2G, JHA/SWP/SWMS and permit to work
Essential Requirements for the Role
Required qualifications:
* Trade Certificate III or IV in Rubber Lining
* Australian "C" Class Drivers licence
* Current Working at Heights (completed within 5 years)
* Current Confined Space Entry Training (completed within 5 years)
* Australian High Risk Work License in Forklift and EWP (desireable)
Required Skills and Competencies:
* Experience in rubber lining, rubber wear and abrasion
* Experience with rubber lining in a mining environment
* Ability to perform in a team with minimum supervision
Required Experiences:
* At least 5 years' experience in a similar capacity in mining/construction industry
