Role Overview
This role sits within a complex, multi-entity Australian and New Zealand operating environment, supporting end-to-end corporate tax compliance, governance and advisory activity. The position works closely with finance leadership, payroll, external advisors and commercial stakeholders across the business.
With a strong forward pipeline and continued operational growth, the focus is on accurate delivery, practical tax support and maintaining sound governance across statutory, transactional and project-driven activity. The role offers meaningful involvement beyond compliance, including commercial decision support and systems change.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate Australian and New Zealand corporate income tax compliance, including preparation and lodgments with external advisors
Review and manage monthly BAS and IAS obligations
Oversee GST return preparation and lodgement across multiple entities
Prepare and manage Australian FBT returns for all employing entities
Complete annual Australian and New Zealand tax effect accounting
Maintain Australian and New Zealand tax fixed asset registers
Calculate and support contractor payroll tax obligations
Prepare and lodge the Taxable Payments Annual Report
Maintain tax governance frameworks, documentation and controls
Prepare and post journals supporting tax, compliance and reporting activities
Provide tax input into tenders, commercial proposals and project pricing
Assess tax implications of structural changes and business initiatives
Review new payroll pay codes from a tax compliance perspective
Support tax analysis for acquisitions, divestments and other strategic activity
Contribute tax expertise to finance and ERP system implementations
Assist with month-end processes, workpapers and audit support as required
About You
Proven experience in Australian corporate tax within a complex or multi-entity environment
Exposure to New Zealand tax compliance and reporting requirements
Strong working knowledge of GST, FBT, payroll tax and tax effect accounting
Experience partnering with external tax advisors and internal stakeholders
Comfortable supporting commercial decision-making and business initiatives
Strong attention to detail with a practical, delivery-focused mindset
Experience supporting audits, system changes or ERP implementations
CA or CPA qualified (or near completion)
