Fixed Assets Accountant Role
The Financial Accountant - Fixed Assets is a key position in our organisation, responsible for providing accurate and timely financial support to the business. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, with a focus on fixed assets, including maintenance of asset classes, effective lives, additions, and disposals.
The successful candidate will be responsible for daily management of fixed assets, updating schedules that support the fixed asset clearing (WIP) accounts, working with the property team to allocate bulk shopfit to new stores, and preparing general journals and provisions with associated supporting documentation.
This role also involves preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and related follow-up, investigation into reconciling items and analysis of general ledger balances, driving process and system improvements, assisting with audit and other statutory-related queries, and ad-hoc financial investigation and analysis as required.
We are looking for an individual with a Bachelor of Commerce or related discipline, minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role within a fast-paced environment, thorough reconciliation experience, strong technical accounting skills, understanding of accounting standards, regulations, and guidelines as they apply to fixed assets (PPE), high level of accuracy and attention to detail, ability to analyse financial information, and experience in the use of finance systems (Oracle would be advantageous).
