They have a full-time opportunity for an experienced Project Accountant to join a team supporting onshore oil and gas projects throughout Western Australia. This opportunity is within the Finance team and will provide support on finance, accounting, budget and cost control activities to the key project stakeholders within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of weekly operational reports and month-end financial reports
- Assist with month-end accounting processes including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and cost allocations
- Intercompany transaction reconciliation
- Balance Sheet reconciliation
- Processing day to day transactional work- Accounts Payable & Banking
- Ensure expenditure compliance with Delegation of Authority specification
- JV Expenditure review and reporting against Authority for Expenditure (AFE)
- Assist with Processing and lodgement of BAS’s
- Assist with the preparation of Financial Statements, Budgets and Forecasts
- Supporting credit card and reimbursement processes as required
- Ad-hoc reporting and duties as required
Requirements
- Tertiary or post graduate degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA/CA or similar qualification
- 3-5 years finance and/or accounting experience
- Project and JV accounting experience in Oil and Gas will be highly desirable
- Experience with ERP systems (Acumatica is desirable)
- Sound financial analytical skills with robust attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Power BI
- Ability to work independently
- Good collaboration with internal stakeholders
