The Dampier Community Association (DCA) is seeking a committed, capable and community-minded individual, or two people in a job share arrangement, to join our team as an Administration Officer based at the Dampier Community Hub.
DCA is a not-for-profit organisation that supports the social, cultural and civic life of Dampier through community events, markets, programs, shared spaces and facilities. We work closely with volunteers, community groups and the City of Karratha to ensure the Hub remains accessible, welcoming and well managed.
As Dampier marks its 60th year, this role with the Dampier Community Association offers a chance to contribute to a long-standing organisation that sits at the heart of community life.
About the role
This is a varied, front-facing administration role that plays a key part in the day-to-day running of the Community Hub and associated facilities. You will be the first point of contact for many community members and visitors and will help ensure operations run smoothly, professionally and with community needs front of mind.
Key responsibilities
* Front of house and administration:
* Manage reception duties, including phone, email, website and in-person enquiries
* Represent DCA professionally and positively at all times
* Manage bookings, records, correspondence and general administration tasks
* Process payments, bonds and receipts as required
* Facilities, hires and programs:
* Coordinate bookings for community facilities and equipment hire
* Open and close facilities as required
* Manage keys, access and site inspections for hires
* Inspect facilities and equipment following use and manage bond returns
* Support playgroup, fitness classes and regular user groups
* Report hazards, maintenance issues and facility concerns to the City of Karratha as required
* Events and community engagement:
* Support DCA events, markets and activities
* Support community groups, volunteers and stakeholders
* Promote DCA activities, facilities and notices via social media, email and noticeboards
* Manage enquiries and bookings for the Dampier Caravan Park
* Support seasonal volunteer hosts and liaise on operational matters
* Maintain booking systems, records and reporting
* Reporting and liaison:
* Prepare routine reports as required
* Liaise with DCA committee members, contractors and the City of Karratha
* Support broader operational needs of the Association as they arise
About you
You will bring:
* Strong organisational and time-management skills
* Clear, professional communication skills
* Confidence using computers, booking systems and social media
* A practical, solutions-focused approach
* An interest in community work and supporting local connection
* Experience in administration, facilities, events or community services is highly regarded. Local knowledge or a connection to Dampier is an advantage but not essential.
* Job share considered for the right candidates
* Based at the Dampier Community Hub, Dampier WA
Remuneration: Salary will be negotiated based on skills, experience and hours worked and will be aligned with the responsibilities of the role.
