About This Opportunity
Wellways are excited to offer the position of Support Worker. This role will suit someone who enjoys interacting with and supporting participants with their daily activities. You will work on the front line of our Consumer Directed Services, delivering a wide range of services to support participants' activities of daily living. This role requires you to work closely with the person to ensure their individual needs are met. Support Workers are the front line of our programs, providing consumers with personalised support to help them live meaningful and fulfilling lives. The role may include companionship, transport, shopping, meal preparation, domestic assistance and medication management. An essential element is the active contribution to the continuous improvement of care provided to participants.
About You
You're a passionate, empathetic, and caring individual who wants to make a positive impact. You are independent, proactive, and able to follow directions from managers, while also working well within a tight-knit team. Flexibility is highly desirable and a commitment to providing reliable, person-centered support to participants is important.
What you need is a balance of qualifications, experience, and availability.
Responsibilities
Provide personalised support to participants to assist with activities of daily living, including companionship, transport, shopping, meal preparation, domestic tasks and medication management
Contribute to the continuous improvement of care for participants
What You Need
Certificate III in Mental Health, Disability, Aged Care or Home and Community Care (Desirable but not essential) or equivalent working or lived experience
A current valid Driver's License and a registered, insured vehicle
Police Records Check
Working with Children Check
Manual handling training is desirable, but training will be provided if needed
Right to work in Australia
Availability and willingness to use a personal smartphone
NDIS Workers Screening Check
