Primary objective
Provide a high level of administrative and secretarial support for the Commander and College Executive of the NT Police Force
College while working in a high-pressure environment with changing deadlines and priorities.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide a high level confidential and professional administrative and secretarial service to the Commander and Executive of the
NTPF College Command, including Registered Training Organisation support.
2. Accurate, timely management of Executive unit records and information, following up on response deadlines as necessary.
3. Arrange and schedule meetings, manage diaries and provide secretariat function for high level committees and meetings by
preparing agendas, taking accurate minutes, dissemination to members and recording in records management systems.
4. Purchase items for the NTPF College and ensure accounts for the NTPF College Command are processed in a timely manner
including raising non-invoice payment invoices and purchase order requisitions.
5. Undertake minor research and project work for Commander and Executive as required.
6. Provide relief during absences of staff to ensure there is ongoing support for the NTPF College work units.
7. Provide support at NTPF College functions and major events.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Extensive experience in providing confidential secretarial and administrative support at an executive level - including diary
management, report preparation, transcribing and minute taking.
2. Demonstrated high level of proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets and database applications for administration.
3. Effective interpersonal and communication skills demonstrating professionalism, tact and sensitivity in dealing with a wide range
of clients within a command rank structure.
4. Knowledge of and experience in accounts payable and records management procedures and systems.
5. Ability to organise and prioritise workloads and work under pressure whilst exercising initiative and flexibility in a team
setting with minimal supervision.
6. Willingness to work flexible or extended hours if required.
Desirable
1. Diploma or Certificate IV in Business.
2. Knowledge of the organisation and principal functions of the Northern Territory Police Force.
3. Hold a current Northern Territory driver's licence.
