Projects involve signaling, train control, communications, and back-office solutions with a focus on project execution, schedule adherence, and customer satisfaction.How you will make a difference As a Senior Signalling Engineer, you will provide high level technical support, leadership and supervision in relation to design, checking and validating signaling systems in accordance with statutory, regulatory, company and client standards.
You will mentor junior engineers and guide them in system design and competency development.Your typical day Prepare schedules for preliminary and detailed designs of signalling systems that comply with statutory and regulatory requirementsMonitor progress and initiate remedial action to ensure projects are completed on time and within budgetSupervise preparation of documentation for standards and specifications related to signalling systemsProvide high level technical support for all signalling projectsAct as independent checker verifying signalling designs and application data prepared by othersAct as a Team Leader to support complex signalling projectsParticipate in factory acceptance testing and/or site testing of signalling systems and equipmentParticipate in the commissioning of signalling systemsReport on signalling projects as requiredWhat we want to know about you You must have:Degree qualified in Engineering or Equivalent10 to 15 years experience working as Signalling Professional in AustraliaLevel 2 Signalling Competency from MTM/Vline, ARTC or QRRPEV or REPQ or be eligible to achieve this accreditationNice to have:IRSE AccreditationKnowledge of Computer Based Interlocking (CBI) systemsAbility to conduct factory acceptance testing and/or principles testing of CBI systemsKnowledge of grade crossing predictors and other level crossing technologiesYou will also have opportunities to perform other duties outside of your core responsibilities, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
