Early Learning Commission - Delivery and Engagement
Location: Parramatta (remote/hybrid working arrangement)
Expressions of Interest are being sought from eligible ongoing and temporary employees across the Government Sector to relieve in the role of Deputy Commissioner, Delivery and Engagement for 6 months (with possibility of extension).

About the role
The role is responsible for the delivery of frontline regulatory operations as well as the communication and engagement functions within the Commission.

About you
* You understand instinctively that children come first.
* You are a proven operational leader in regulated context – someone who has run large complex, dispersed teams and achieved regulatory objectives through considered use of regulatory tools – from education through to enforcement, and delivered results in a high-stakes, accountability driven environment.
* You know what good regulation looks like and you know how to build it. You bring deep experience applying legislation, managing risk and making difficult calls under scrutiny.
* You are energised by the challenge of building something new. You can grow existing strengths and capabilities while setting new standards and exploring and embedding new ways of working. You hold yourself and your teams to high standards and you are thoughtful and proactive in creating the best conditions for people to do their best work.
* You are a collaborator by instinct and build strong partnerships internally and externally – not as a courtesy but as deliberate strategy to strengthen reach and impact.
* You are a skilled communicator and have a confident public presence. You are equally comfortable addressing peak bodies, appearing before parliamentary committees, managing media and gaining the confidence of frontline staff. * Above all, you are genuinely motivated by what the Commission exists to do: keep children safe and drive quality in early childhood education and care across NSW.
