Lithgow City Council has an exciting opportunity for a Water Treatment Plant Operator to join their team in Lithgow, NSW.
Reporting to the Supervisor Plants and Pump stations you will be responsible to perform all necessary operational and maintenance duties associated with the running of the Wastewater Treatment Plants and pump stations located within the Lithgow Local Government Area.
More specifically, your duties will include (but will not be limited to):
* Manage Wastewater Treatment Plant, Wastewater Pumping Stations and associated Sewer Pump Stations Operations, covered by the EPA License for the system being worked on
* Operate Wastewater Treatment Plants in an efficient and effective manner, adjusting plant operational parameters to provide the best results from the system
* Operate the Sewerage Treatment Plants and Sewer Pump Stations in accordance with NSW EPA License concentration limits
* Maintain online and computer‐based databases of test results for the relevant plant
* Ensure that all pump stations are maintained to an acceptable standard of cleanliness
* Perform necessary maintenance works to ensure pump stations are running at full efficiency and complete plant maintenance tasks
About you
The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:
* NSW Health Fluoridation Ticket
* Experience in Water Treatment Plant Operations
* Class C Drivers Licence
* WHS General Induction for Construction Certificate (Whitecard)
* Confined Spaces Ticket
* Demonstrated ability and continued willingness to work in a team environment
* Sound Communication skills
* Prepared to work on a rotating basis that will include overtime, weekend, and on call/after hours duties
* Demonstrated commitment to the principles of honesty and integrity
* Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of WHS and Risk Management Procedures
In addition, an ideal candidate would have:
* Traffic Control Ticket (Stop/Slow)
* Experience in Wastewater Treatment Plant and Pumpstation operations
* Experience in Water and Wastewater plumbing
* Experience with telemetry systems.
Salary and Benefits
* Between $1,624.08 to $1,784.40 per week, commensurate with your skills, qualifications and experience.
* Permanent, Full‐time, 38 hours per week.
