We're seeking a dedicated and compassionate Allied Mental Health Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team and deliver high-quality, Medicare-rebatable mental health services. In this role, you will conduct assessments, develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, and support clients under the Medicare Better Access and Mental Health Treatment Plan initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Client Assessment & Planning
Collaborate with GPs and referrers to develop Mental Health Treatment Plans (MHTPs).
Identify strengths, needs and risk factors; formulate clinical formulations.
Intervention & Therapy
Provide individual and (where appropriate) group therapy sessions (up to 10 sessions per calendar year under Medicare).
Deliver evidence-based interventions (e.g., CBT, ACT, OT-based functional rehabilitation, social work counselling, psychiatric nursing strategies).
Monitor progress, adjust treatment plans, and support relapse prevention.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical records to meet Medicare documentation requirements.
Generate and submit Medicare claims using valid Provider Numbers and referral details.
Prepare progress summaries and outcome reports for referrers.
Work closely with GPs, psychiatrists, and other allied health professionals for coordinated care.
Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and clinical supervision.
Provide psychoeducation and support to families and caregivers as needed.
Quality & Professional Development
Adhere to professional and ethical standards (e.g., AHPRA, AASW, AOTP, ANMF codes of conduct).
Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain required CPD hours.
Contribute to service improvement initiatives and clinical governance activities.
