School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences Full-time (100%), permanent position Base salary will be in the range $80,448 - $107,104 17% Superannuation (Academic Level A) Based at our St Lucia campus About This Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Focused Associate Lecturer to develop their teaching practice that enables student learning and to demonstrate the UQ values. In this role, you will engage in internal collaborations that expand your teaching expertise and profile. You will also work to ensure students enrolled in the Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science, and the Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology have access to work integrated learning opportunities that meet the requirements of the accrediting body (ESSA). Key responsibilities will include: Teaching: Teach in the disciplines of exercise and sports science and clinical exercise physiology, contribute to course design and assessment, implement effective pedagogies for specific student cohorts, strengthen student engagement and experience, manage the work integrated learning process, engage in educational collaborations, and adhere to university teaching rules. Research: Participate in research in the discipline area, participate in research projects and/or applications for external funding, translate research findings to benefit student learning and experience, contribute to educational partnerships that result in quality outputs. Supervision and Researcher Development: Engage in supervisory activities effectively and ethically and contribute to researcher capability and skill development. Citizenship and Service: Uphold university values, engage in professional development, foster the School’s relationship with industry, participate in School committees, and assist in student recruitment. About You Completed PhD or equivalent in Exercise and Sports Science or Clinical Exercise Physiology. Evidence of high-quality university teaching skills or contributions to teaching in the discipline under the mentorship of established academics. An emerging teaching profile in the discipline with evidence of impact on student learning. An emerging profile of contributing to education research and/or emerging profile of collaborating on high-quality research in the discipline. Participation in activities to develop teaching expertise in the discipline. Well-developed communication, interpersonal and consultative skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in teaching and learning. A profile of professional expertise that complements and/or supplements the expertise that currently exists within the School and the broader University.
