The way we see it, every Alcoan is a work-shaper, team-shaper, idea-shaper, world-shaper.Our Portland Aluminium Smelter is looking for suitably qualified and experienced Electrical Reliability Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis.Working Monday through Friday, with one flexi leisure day every four-week period you will enjoy the challenges of a technical site role coupled with work life balance.Your role as a Reliability Engineer will be challenging and diverse, and require a strong customer focus with contribution to:ResponsibilitiesIdentifying long term opportunities for improvement through the provision of technical expertise with a focus on equipment reliability and improving plant capacityProviding single point accountability for engineering support in the day-to-day operationsBeing a catalyst and contributing to improvements in Operation Area performance in both the short and long termLeading root cause analysis investigation of failuresDeveloping work scopes for major equipment repairs using fitness for service approachesDeveloping and improving equipment management strategies using a suite of reliability approachesImplementing improvements and driving to completionInvolvement with Capital Projects, and Safety leadership; the corner stone of Alcoa operationsWhat's on offerRelocation supportAttractive remuneration and variable bonus planEmployee growth and development opportunitiesParental leave support for all caregiversPaid employee volunteering hours within our communityEmployee assistance program for personal support servicesWhat you can bring to the roleA tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, with previous experience in maintenance, reliability, heavy industry or plant engineeringAn understanding of risk management, quality improvement and reliability excellence processesThe ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organisation with a customer centric mentalityA track record in pro-active problem solving with your use of initiative and a desire to continuously improve business performanceAn ability to prioritise a high workload and persevere through daily challengesAdditional informationInterviews may progress prior to the closing date, although all applications will be considered.You will only be contacted if you are shortlisted for an interview, this process can take up to four weeks from the closing date.About the LocationOur Portland Smelter is a joint venture between Alcoa of Australia (55%), CITIC (22.5%) and Marubeni Aluminium Australia (22.5%).
Alcoa manages the day-to-day operations at the smelter and we produce approximately 19 per cent of Australia's total aluminium production in Portland.
