- We are seeking highly motivated leaders to provide an integral role in the oversight of procurements and contract management functions in the Digital Services Division.
- You will be responsible for leading and undertaking procurement planning, tendering, contract formation and contract management activities, whilst ensuring compliance with legislation, procurement policies, processes and procedures.
**Who we are**
The Digital Enabling Services Branch supports the operations of the Digital Services Division, through the delivery of corporate services and continued digital transformation. The branch includes a program management office, human resource services, financial management and support, commercial services, records management, ERP Systems, Web Systems, and the Ways of Working (WoW) Enablement Centre. The branch also includes the Shared Services Centre supporting administration of memorandum of understanding (MoU) with participating entities including cost-allocation, formal governance and drives efficiencies in the delivery of shared services.
The successful applicant(s) will operate within a small team - Commercial Services. Commercial Services is made up of ICT Contract Management and Procurement professionals who are responsible for providing high quality, cost effective and efficient advice to the Division, as well as facilitating procurement, contract management and tenders within a framework that meets statutory, accountability and reporting requirements. The team operates in a fast-paced environment with a diverse range of tasks, often with changing priorities and tight deadlines and is looking for enthusiastic individuals that can working within the team to drive our change agenda.
**The Job**
- Manage complex procurements and commercial management.
- Ensure all procurements, financial transactions and agreements are undertaken within mandated Commonwealth Procurement Guidelines and departmental procedures.
- Make decisions that are based on professional judgement, while evaluating and managing risks.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with various stakeholders.
- Undertake research and analysis and contribute to the preparation of discussion papers, risk assessment plans, contract management plans and reports.
- Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to negotiate and influence confidently.
- Represent and negotiate on behalf of the Department at commercial meetings and briefings
- Be responsible for providing leadership and support to the staff and work area, including assigning and managing workloads, developing work plans, and ensuring workplace goals are accomplished within deadlines.

**Knowledge and experience**
- Experience in complex commercial contract management, procurement and commercial functions in a large organisation
- A strong working knowledge of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability (PGPA) Act, and broader Commonwealth Procurement Rules and policies.
- Experience leading a team with multiple competing priorities.
- Be motivated, flexible, well organised and able to work a high volume transactional environment.
**Eligibility and other requirements**
**Citizenship** - To be eligible for employment with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry you must be an Australian citizen.
**Security Clearance** - This position requires clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
