Overview
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has awarded Football Australia hosting rights for the 2026 edition of the AFC Women's Asian Cup. This marks Australia's second time hosting the event, following the 2006 edition and the successful co‑hosting of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. You will be part of a Local Organising Committee (LOC) tasked with delivering the tournament, featuring 12 nations in three groups of four, celebrating women's football and multicultural Australia while delivering legacy outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Fan Activation Zones & Precinct Delivery
* Lead planning, delivery, and pack‑down of the Fan Activation Zone, ensuring alignment with creative, operational, and safety standards.
* Coordinate with entertainment providers, monitoring presentation, crowd flow, accessibility, and risk management.
Volunteer Coordination
* Oversee volunteer deployment, supervision, welfare, and communication across fan zones and concourse areas.
* Act as on‑ground leader, maintaining morale and contributing to post‑match feedback and reporting.
Commercial Partner Liaison
* Serve as the primary venue contact for partner activations, supporting setup, approvals, branding checks, and troubleshooting.
* Ensure activations meet contractual rights and coordinate reporting with the central Commercial team.
Merchandise Coordination
* Support merchandise vendors with setup, queue management, and service presentation.
* Monitor compliance with brand standards and provide venue‑level feedback on performance and engagement.
Matchday Operations and Reporting
* Participate in matchday briefings and ensure all fan‑facing elements are show‑ready throughout the event.
* Produce daily reports covering volunteers, crowd insights, partner delivery, and incidents, collaborating closely with key stadium teams.
Qualifications
* 3–5 years' experience in event operations, live event coordination, or fan engagement.
* Experience working in large‑scale public environments such as stadiums, festivals, or cultural events.
* Strong people leadership experience, particularly with volunteers or casual staff.
* Proven ability to deliver commercial or sponsor activations in live event settings.
* Excellent communication, multitasking, and team coordination skills.
* Ability to thrive under pressure and in rapidly changing environments.
Offsite Conditions
* Full working rights in Australia (fixed‑term nature means no sponsorship for this position).
* Working with children check (paid/employee) or state‑based equivalent.
* Out of hours and weekend work as required.
