Job Description

The Virginia Community Healthcare Association seeks a highly skilled and dedicated Pediatrician to join our team in Northern Virginia. As a full-time, salaried employee, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing appointment and walk-in patient care in an outpatient primary healthcare clinic serving patients of all ages and socioeconomic levels.

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and experience beyond residency, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality patient care. They will be expected to equal or exceed 3,960 encounters annually, utilizing professional skills in diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic health problems, as well as preventive care focused on health risk factor reduction.

In this role, the Pediatrician will work closely with other healthcare providers to offer integrated and coordinated care to patients of all ages. The successful candidate will also supervise Nurse Practitioners, Medical Assistants, and other support staff in a caring and professional manner.


Key Responsibilities

* Conduct thorough health assessments, including history and physical examinations, ordering diagnostic tests, and evaluating psychosocial and family aspects of each situation.
* Promote and maintain family health through periodic health assessments, screening for early case findings, and guidance on health hazards, child rearing, and good family health habits.
* Manage common acute and chronic illnesses, perform minor surgical procedures, and initiate life-saving procedures in emergencies.
* Refer complex cases to the physician on duty and assist in educating patients and the target community on preventive healthcare and health maintenance concepts.


Requirements

* Doctor of Medicine Degree from a nationally accredited program.
* Successful completion of a certified Family Med/Pediatrician Residency Program.
* Experience beyond Residency Program welcomed.
* Board Certification in Family Medicine.
* Current Virginia license to practice as a Family Medical Doctor.
* Current DEA number, NPI number, and Basic Life Support Certification.
* Bilingual (English/Spanish) language ability welcomed but not required.
