Primary objective The Executive Officer provides strategic advice, support and project management services to assist with the coordination of the General Manager'sDay to day priorities as well as the timely flow of accurate information to senior executive staff, ministerial offices and key stakeholder groups.
Context statement The position will report directly to the General Manager and is required to work closely with PSI Executives, their Teams to coordinate and alignbusiness of PSI.
The position will also manage the Northern Australia Development Office spaces including stakeholder engagement andmanagement of staff.
The position will also work collaboratively with the Office of the Chief Executive and other DTBAR Executive teams.
Key duties and responsibilities Provide high level executive support to the General Manager including meeting and secretarial support, research and project support, procurement and financial administration support.
Manage and coordinate the development and implementation of a range of projects on behalf for the General Manager, this may include the development of business cases, stakeholder management and project management.
Liaise with representatives from the Minister's office, Executive and senior management of the department to oversee project implementation.
Prepare, develop, coordinate and process high quality, timely and reliable executive correspondence on behalf of the General Manager, including cabinet submissions, estimates papers, flash briefs, agency response papers, position papers and other reports as required, ensuring high quality and accuracy of all executive correspondence.
Undertake research and analysis of various issues and provide solutions and recommendations in relation to these.
Facilitate and reinforce a culture of continuous improvement and good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure high-level outcomes.
Selection criteria Essential Exceptional organisation and coordination skills, attention to detail including proficiency in managing competing priorities and ability to respond flexibly and pro-actively to changing priorities.
Well-developed project management skills including performance monitoring and reporting and an ability to coordinate stakeholders with diverse interests to achieve a common goal.
Well-developed analytical, research, and risk management skills with experience translating information/data into clear and persuasive written reports and briefings.
High level oral and written communication, interpersonal and networking skills with the ability to establish and maintain sustainable relationships with a varied range of stakeholders and people from diverse cultures.
Proven ability to work independently with minimal direction, while also actively and collaboratively contributing to a high performing team which delivers outstanding results.
Well-developed problem-solving skills including ability to exercise sound judgement, apply lateral thinking to identify and resolve issues, and discern when to elevate emerging issues and concerns.
A high level of personal integrity, including the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Desirable Tertiary qualification in business, corporate governance or a related field.
