About the Role
Based at our Newstead campus in Launceston, our Maintenance Officer role is responsible for providing maintenance services to grounds, buildings, and equipment with the aim of achieving a standard of presentation for all St Michael's facilities in accordance with the objectives and requirements of St Michael's Association and all legal obligations.
This is a permanent full-time position. Wages are based on the SCHADS Award Level 2.
Desirable knowledge and skills:
* Trade qualification to Certificate III level
* Current Level 2 Senior First Aid
Selection Criteria:
* General maintenance skills such as painting, plastering, equipment repairs and minor plumbing & electrical issues.
* Understanding of fire and safety compliance
* Demonstrated empathy and understanding of issues related to people with a disability, and an ability to communicate with the clients of the Association
* Willingness and ability to comply with and support the policies and practices of the Association
* Current unrestricted manual driver's license (MR level desirable)
Successful candidates will be required to clear background checks including National Police and pre-employment medical checks, a NDIS Workers Screening Check and Working with Vulnerable Check.
