The Role
The Western Australia College of Agriculture – Harvey (WACOA – Harvey) is seeking an enthusiastic person with experience and interest in general farm operations to join the team as an Agricultural Training Officer. The ideal candidate will have industry experience and a passion for teaching upper‑secondary school age students in a specialised agricultural college setting. The role involves managing and operating the College's farm enterprises, conducting training and assessment, and developing general farm operations, livestock handling and machinery operation skills. The successful applicant will be deployed across the College farm based on experience in livestock management, machinery use, and horticulture, and will assist in dairy and other animal enterprises as required. A set Monday‑to‑Friday roster is provided, with weekend and after‑hours overtime covered by commuted overtime pay. Applicants will be assessed against level 1 selection criteria; to achieve level 2 held certificates may be required but upskilling will be provided.
About the School
The College is located in Wokalup, 8 km south of Harvey on a 900‑ha farm that operates semi‑commercially. It features horticulture (parks, gardens, vegetables, citrus and vines), beef, sheep, dairy, poultry, pigs, a farm workshop and general maintenance. Harvey is a 20‑minute drive to the coast and 40 minutes to Bunbury, with ample sporting, recreational, schooling, shopping and medical facilities.
