This role will be based in the Perth laboratory.
**Mining**
Our Mining team helps clients optimise performance, boost profitability, and operate responsibly. We have a comprehensive understanding of the mining industry and current issues including decarbonisation and understand future ready strategies are critical to countering these issues, capitalising on opportunities, and adding value to businesses.
**What you'll do**:
- QA/QC sample collection, testing and data recording
- Preparing testing reports
- Preparation and shipping samples for off-site testing
- Operate telehandler (or similar)
- Material handling
- Work with Site Engineers/Project Team to complete day to day duties/operations
- Understand and follow WSP/Golder health, safety and environment policies and procedures
- Display a safety-first attitude and always be conscious of health and safety
- Identify and report hazards, near misses and incidents in the HSE Learnings Database
- Actively raise HSE issues with peers, contractors and visitors and assist in seeking resolution for identified issues
- Actively eliminate and control hazards related to routine and non-routine tasks on a daily basis using the hazard control hierarchy
**About you**:
- Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques or equivalent
- Current Australian drivers license
- Site-based (Mining/Construction) experience, including FIFO or remote location work preferred but not essential.
- Experience working in a testing laboratory or batch plant would be an advantage
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in laboratory and field testing of soil and, aggregate and concrete materials to NATA requirements
- Good problem solving and analytical skills
- High attention to detail, thorough and diligent in work tasks
- Self-starter
- Ability to work in a safe manner and actively foster an interdependent health and safety culture
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office programs and basic mathematical skills
- Client service skills
